New! Introducing ‘My Kitchen – Food and Drink Experiences’ by Amy

Before moving to Woodlands Farm, I used to work as a Senior Course Tutor at Bettys Cookery School in Harrogate, part of the Bettys & Taylors Group, famous for their Café Tearooms in Yorkshire.  I developed and delivered Cookery courses to adults and children, ranging from knife skills to chocolate making.  I worked there for 9 years and enjoyed teaching people from the complete novice to more advanced cooks.  During this time I was involved in demonstrating in Cookery Theatres such as Malton Food Lovers Festival, Harrogate Flower Show, Countryside Live, the Great Yorkshire Show and the BBC Good Food Show in Birmingham.  I enjoyed writing recipes on behalf of Bettys PR Team for food publications such as BBC Good Food and Olive and working with Lesley Wild on her Cookbook ‘A Year of Family Recipes’.  A highlight for me was being interviewed by Dame Jenni Murray live on-air for BBC Radio 4 Women’s Hour about the traditional British pie making a comeback, this was in 2010.

Before Bettys, I lived in London and worked as a freelance chef for a couple of years after completing the Diploma at the prestigious Leiths School of Food and Wine.  The reason why I’m telling you all this?  Well for the past few years, Paul and I have worked hard building up the Guest Accommodation business and I am proud of the food we serve to our guests. However, I’m ready to introduce a new food offering to Woodlands Farm, taking advantage of my past experience and following up on feedback from customers and friends in the industry. After a successful application for a Tourism Grant with the North York Moors National Park Authority we have made some improvements to the kitchen so I can deliver Food and Drink Experiences to guests from ‘My Kitchen’.  This will be launching in the Autumn 2019. We are currently working on the website and booking facility but if you are interested in following our progress, check-out the social media pages My Kitchen at Woodlands Farm (Facebook) and MyKitchenWoodl2 (Twitter).
